The University of the Philippines Visayas - Office of the University Registrar (UPV-OUR) welcomed Bicol University (BU) for a benchmarking activity, which focused on enhancing BU’s equity admission policy, held at the UPV Office of the Chancellor Conference Room, Miagao campus on Feb. 5, 2026.
University Registrar Prof. Nilo Araneta led the presentation and discussion of UPV’s admission policies, procedures, and good practices. He was joined by Ms. Charito Gavadan of the UPV Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and Ms. Mary Jane Castromayor and Ms. Suzanne Terre of the OUR in discussing UPV’s admission policy.
BU was represented by Dr. Sharlene Lucillo and Prof. Indira Tabo, members of the Visayas Technical Working Group (TWG) Equity Team.
The BU TWG on Equity Admission Policy, headed by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, is conducting a series of benchmarking activities to study exemplary equity-based admission models demonstrating BU’s commitment to fostering continuous improvement and advancing inclusive and equitable access to higher education.
