A student must be officially registered in order to receive credit for course work. No person who has not duly matriculated may be admitted to the classes. In exceptional cases, the Registrar may, on the recommendation of the Dean concerned, authorize the admission of a visitor to a class for not more than five (5) sessions. [Art. 330, UP Code 1961; as amended at the 790th BOR Meeting, 19 December 1969 and 861st BOR Meeting, 29 May 1975]
There will be no late registration. Instead, the Chancellors shall prescribe a reasonable amount of time for registration. [1214th BOR Meeting, 26 October 2006]
No student shall be registered in any subject after one (1) week of regular class meetings have been held, unless the Dean permits the registration of the student on the basis of the student’s scholastic record and that: [Art. 332, as amended at the 232nd UC Meeting, 4 May 1967]
- A special student may register at any time without the payment of the fine for late registration subject to other regulations of the University.
- A student may register for a particular subject within a semester when permissible under the system of instruction adopted by the college or school.
Free Tuition Policy
In accordance with the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act of 2017, or R.A. 10931, all eligible students will be granted free tuition and miscellaneous fees when they enroll in the University of the Philippines.
Students who fail to complete their bachelor's degree or comparable undergraduate degree within a year after the period prescribed in the program are no longer eligible to enjoy the privilege of free tuition and other fees. The “prescribed period” refers to the normal length of time to complete the requirements for graduation. Counting is done from the start of the student’s enrollment in UP.

Over-the-counter payment at the Cash Office (Miagao & Iloilo Campus). Official Receipt will be issued directly upon payment.

- Go to www.landbank.com and click on Link.BizPortal / Scan the QR Code
- Select University of the Philippines Visayas as merchant
- Click on the applicable transaction type (Ex. School Fees)
- Select your preferred ‘Payment Gateway Option’ and supply the other payment details
- Key in all the requested account details, including the One-Time Password (OTP) and
- View and print of download the Payment Confirmation.

Scan MAYA-QRPH code using the MAYA App or any preferred-wallet or banking app. Add P10 to the amount to be paid as convenience fee.
